Coby Almond
Be thou the rainbow in the storms of life. The evening beam that smiles the clouds away, and tints tomorrow with prophetic ray.
— Lord Byron

I'm Coby, a designer and developer based in Texas. I'm currently an interaction designer at UT Southwestern Medical Center, home to Nobel laureates and noble laborers alike in Dallas, where I work with an interactive team to design and power the websites and apps of the institution. I've worked for startups, grocery stores, health companies, among others. While I began my career in the fine arts and photography, I transitioned into graphic design and eventually, UX design and development. I received my BS in Interdisciplinary Studies in Art and Technology from Texas A&M University - Commerce. For my capstone, I studied the correlation science fiction has upon science fact within the realm of the arts. I achieved this aim in documenting the recent resurgence of virtual reality experiences. I then compared them to the recordings of its past as found in older tech and gaming publications. Technology is my jam.

When I'm not at home working on furniture projects for my wife Valarie or playing with the kids, I can be found at the local makerspace I help run, working on launching a podcast, helping brand an open source project, or riding on the DART Light Rail for a daily commute.
